Flies and Moths

There are thought to be 150,000 to 250,000 species of moth. Most closely related to butterflies, moths are nocturnal pests with an important job. They serve to pollinate night blooming flowers and are attracted to artificial light. They are often considered pests because the larvae commonly feed on fabrics and nest in closets or pantries. They can contaminate food.
Flies

Common house flies are a nuisance and can wreak havoc while infesting a home. Each female fly can lay approximately 500 eggs in batches. Within a day, larvae (maggots) hatch from the eggs; they live and feed in organic material (such as food or garbage). They contaminate food and can spread several infectious and parasitic diseases including Typhoid, cholera, dysentery, and E. coli.
